Well, it's because, blah blah blah blah bla..... and blah blah blah bal blah.....

in layman's terms it's all a bunch of cow crap......surplus this of the summer blend and we will be switching to our winter blend and need the tank storage space and i pulled that right out of my keister.......it's gubernatorial election time bra.....:duh:

Nothing to do with the elections, purely supply and demand.

Economy in Europe is slowing down, means less demand for crude. Putin is gonna have to lick his wounds.

Weather forecasts indicate a warmer summer, means less demand.

Crude stocks are high.

Airlines are slower due to folks avoiding mass contact in fear of ebola.

If you are into stocks, right now have your stops tight and think about going short if you are trading options.

It was $2.95 for reg in Kentucky this past weekend. I can't remember the last time I saw $2.xx, so it was somewhat refreshing.

Saudi Arabia is pumping to hurt Iran. This also helps the US as its now below the break even price for Russia.

Also this helps SA since fracking is no longer as profitable, so if they keep it up, alternative research will not get as big a push again.

What he said ^^.

Oh...and the oil oligopoly controls/manipulates supply as they see fit.

Paid $3.45 for 89 octane in the car last fill up. That's actually cheap here. :?

I was in my doctors waiting room a couple of days ago and there was a piece on CNBC about OPEC starting a price war on oil. They have stated they will up production to offest the American and Canadian oil being produced and put into play. The "specialist" being interviewed said OPEC vowed to see oil go down to $60 per barrel, as they apparently feel that is the North American Break even point per barrel. This was started by the Saudi's and the rest of OPEC will be forced to match these prices if they wish to stay in the market.

Let's not forget the terrorist ISIS is selling oil at below market prices to fund their war efforts. While small in percentage they can hemorrhage oil freely while they have the ability and need to.

They then stated that this should see prices at the pump go to sub $2.50 for even the highest priced areas of pump prices, but it will be a yearish to get there.

I just paid 2.92/Gal today.

I found a link here: OPEC creating price war: Oil trader

And more here: As oil tumbles, pros expect further declines

And if you look at oil history charts and gasoline prices historically, if it falls below $70 per barrel gas was at .80 at that point. I'm sure adjusted for inflation and new taxes added (because they can), it will be more like 1.50 but I will LOVE that if we see it.

Personally I think it will make a Tesla S more affordable now. :-)

Oil companies have been milking us for years...it is about time it adjusts down from the speculative prices. I plan on enjoying it until the next fabricated story comes out to raise them back up.

has nothn to do with elections. never has and never will. gas prices are dictated by international events not political events here in the US. global crude prices have dropped more than $15 a barrel from their peak in mid summer when the violence in Iraq was on the rise.

the price of north sea brent crude has stayed below a $100-a-barrel level since earlier this month. thats the lowest levels in over two years.

and oil and natural gas production are at a 28-year high because of the boom in shale oil. US is burning less gas this time of year as they always do when the summer comes to an end. less ppl driving means less demand for gas therefore prices drop.

Not sure if it's weekend related (AKA ripoff time) but gas here jumped to $3.15 today.
Sure didn't stay under $3 for very long - just a tease I guess.

45 degrees for a high today so no motorcycle riding :banghead:
