Fuel Pump Disassembly Help Please, 99-00

Hi Guys, just stripping my fuel pump and after removing the pump from its housing how do i remove the plastic cage/filter from the housing. It seems solid in there? Photo attached.

pump in vise, 2 pair long nose pliers and pull out evenly one pull. be sure to seat when reassembling

Wouldnt budge at all, eventually got it out by looping 4 cable ties around the plastic cage in various places then one bogger cable tie around all those and pulled out with bar throught the loop.

Removed all filters, re-assembled pump with new o rings. Checked with battery and it runs.
Put back on bike and still wont start. Where now? Check pump pressure?
Injector filters?

Did you turn the petcock open ? .
Look at the regulator filter , it can be copper in it .
