Had a problem with my front brakes after investigation it turns out to be the left rotor was warped any ideas how would I get a warped rotor guys ? my theory is the stock rotors are pretty flimsy and judging from the several posts I saw on this forum its happened to a few people here I put some CHINESE rotors on with new OEM pads and compared to the OEM rotors they feel more solid and beefier I did the job myself the brakes are fine now only problem I had doing the job was taking the front fender off especially the pesky right hand brake hose clip I had to remove it ? to take the fender off ? I know you guys like pictures so here is a few from the job

I reckon the stock rotors are ok...

Either your original rotor was accidentally knocked or your've got crud in the calipers and a piston(s) stuck out, did you clean the pistons before pushing them back when you fitted the new pads ?

It sure is a sorry sign of the times , when oem parts are being replaced with better constructed Chinese items ! I have seen it creeping in on other production areas also . The fact is that China is now producing higher quality items of world standards , and 'cheap crap' is no longer blanket applicable .

Yes I am suspicious but cant prove it of the last tyre change I did the shop that did the work looked a little rough hence they are no longer there

First a bit of info. Rotors that are often referred to as "warped" are actually not, and usually just suffering from non-uniform buildup of brake pad material on the rotors surface. Here is a good article on the subject.

The other item, of which I am a proponent, is periodic cleaning of the buttons on the stock brake discs. These always get full of road grime and stop functioning as designed; not letting the rotor float laterally on them. You should be able to grab each button with your thumb and forefinger and rotate them freely, if not its time to clean them out, I use Maxima Contact Cleaner and a backing rag for this, with good effect. There are several videos on Youtube of this procedure.

I would also highly recommend replacing those factory rubber brake lines and OEM pads. There are lots of good options for both! I think you will like the result. And don't toss those stock rotors they are likely entirely fine.

I need a single straight one as I bent a carrier on mine . I see on the china models you purchased they have a bit more carrier material than OEM . I have seen buttons get dirty like said above , but also seen many bent carriers by accident . A guy at a rally years ago bent a rotor on his bike by kicking the front rotor trying to find a rattle in the front end . So bad we took the rotor off , and put a piece off wood in the caliper so he could ride home .

Do you have a link / price for the units you bought please ? give us a ride report later too if you dont mind

C10 I brought them from bikingboy-au $260 AUD for the pair delivered with 1 year warranty yes they defiantly feel more solid and heavier than the OEM and I am regretting not weighing them Personal choice but I prefer the normal round disc not the wave type they ran out of the black inserts so I got the gold inserts which I preferred anyway early days yet as I only done about 200 km on them and as expected no issues with them however a few years ago i brought my first Chinese rotors for my goldwing just to preserve the original rotors because they are super expensive and at over 110 thousand km later they still look like there new

How many kilometres has bike done? Rotor may have replaced before, Suzuki parts in most cases are good quality, just replaced both front at only 45000 kilometres due to grit and poop getting in as well as being brembo calipers. Some dealers offer aftermarket parts which look exactly the same as ONE parts , some are inferior quality, made from junk metal and do warp under intense braking/heat. Cleaning calipers will ease the problem as pistons move in/out freer.

I concur,it doesn't take much for them to warp

32000 km OK I must confess I did drop the bike in the garage awhile ago on the left hand side but surely the disc would not made contact with the ground ?
