Frankenstein Bolt Replacements for $3.00

Wife wanted me to get rid of the Frankenstein bolts on my new Busa. Found the bolts and caps at Lowes for a total of $3.00, I think the result was very good. I am very happy with it as is the wife. Thats the most important part.

Had to cut the caps in half to get them to fit flush. Used a shot of spray adhesive on them to ensure they were secure.

your not talking bout the dupont stuff are you??? i saw a thread the other day stating its not recommended for motorcycle chains anymore.

Those are similar but not the same. The Frankenstein bolts have a lip on the tip that secures the fairings. Those bolts just screw in and fill the hole, not actually holding onto any part of the plastics.

But they look good...

Frankenstein Replacement Bolts heres some that wont rust. those you got look to be carbon, id at least paint them.

you dont actually even need those bolts. people shave them and not run them on aftermarket tails

the new style dupont stuff i still use, but mostly to spray off the chain after a ride. Then go back over it with their chain wax in the small bottle and she's good to go.
