Frame Sliders

Does cutting the plastic for frame sliders cause your plastic to become weak and eventually crack? Who has frame sliders and what has been your experience.

I've got sliders on mine and haven't noticed any weakening of the plastics. The only real difference is it takes a little longer to get the plastics off since you have to pull them off the slider. Here are a couple pics.
