frame sliders gone bad!!!

omg dude i had mine done yesterday, the fugged it bad, they messed the hole up and tried to carve it out bigger then they scratched it up and lost bolts, bent my screens in and the list goes on on on , but they are replacing the plastic. good luck brah

Well, think about this, the dealer deals with OEM stuff mostly, not aftermarket. I can think of a couple local dealers that don't even know what frame sliders are, but their tech could figure it out:p:

see that my other prob...if they werent sure even in the slightest bit they should have called vortex who makes my frame sliders and asked them...whats the big deal? why would they just assume they know what the hell they are doin when all they are actually doin is messing up someones bike and makeing them order new plastics and have to redo it all over again....just doesnt make sence to me why they wouldnt find out and make sure first they know what they are doing....

I gotta agree there!

ok so its been 2 weeks since the tramatic experiance with the dealer and today i am gonna bring my bike in to have them redone, they just got the new plastics in on mon but my day off is today so i waited, anyway hopefully they will come out fine...but wish me luck and have me and my bike in your prayers!!

Post the pic's of them on the right bolt, man when I first saw the pic's I thought you did it, glade to see it was some dumb ass at the dealer, they needed to be drug tested that day.

hey well i went yesterday to the dealer and guess what.....THEY ORDERED THE WRONG COLOR!!!!
i really dont understand what these ppl are thinking

anyway i will bring it in next week hopefully then it will be fine.
3 weeks it will be then this is just crazy...

Sounds like you really need to find a new dealer or someone to do your maintenance.

Dayum!! Glad you took care of it. I remember a member here posted about a co-worker who used to have a Hardley and he bought a Busa and installed the sliders in the same place your dealer put them. That was the butt of all jokes for about a week. They looked more like "knee rests"

You really should consider doing the job yourself. It's not difficult. Lots of info on the board, including one of my threads, on how to do it properly.

That sucks but is pretty much what you can expect from the dealer clowns. Spend the $40 on a shop manual and do everything yourself.
