Yeah, it'll happen SOMEDAY, but not NEAR soon enough to invalidate Blu-Ray discs. We'll be a "material things" obsessed society for many years to come.

Still gotta consider the level of geekness required to press one button. Quite a few people barely understand email, let alone downloading or streaming a movie

ohhh no doubt about that. It would be nice if in the near future you could actually buy the digital rights of movies and log on and watch them from anywhere in the world. Once you buy the digital rights the movie is yours forever. They do this with ebooks now. I know many people who actually buy the ebooks at a fraction of the cost and just goto a website and read them after they sign in. This is not going to happen in the next 5 years but I bet it will be done sooner or later..

The format war is over, and HD-DVD lost.  Paramount announced today that they're supporting Blu-Ray.

Not that I think this will change much but that report is/was false and Paramount now denies moving to Blu-Ray. Instead of owning up to a false report the website is now just a dead link and they change it to "poised to leave"..
