Fork oil

I know that this subject has been beat to death for the last couple of weeks but one question remains. How much fork oil am I going to put into the fork? The person that I bought the parts from says not to measure the amount but to fill the fork to 120mm below the top of the tube with the forks bottomed out. What is everyone else doing?

Gen 2 is 532ml (18.0/18.7 oz) according to the manual.

This will be for a gen 1. Looks like the manual says 480 ml or 16.2 to 16.9 oz. If this is not correct someone let me know.

I don't go by the exact amount because unless every last single drop is cleared out of the forks you might be overfilling. 3.9" from the top of the fork before capping is the oil level point for Gen 1. I've used that method on mine and they work great - also changed out to 15 weight fork oil rather than stock which is either 7 or 10 (can't remember for sure which).
