How often should I be changing my fork oil. I use the bike just about every day. Sometimes twenty miles, sometimes a hundred miles, just depends on my work load. It's a 2008 Orange and Black.
Please advise friends.
Thanks.
Depends . Most manufacturers say between 7500 to 15000 miles . Conditions / riding affect this greatly . smooth clean riding = longer .
City/bumpy/rainy/dirty = shorter . Remember the oil is being constantly pushed through a shim stack to achieve damping . As the oil gets older/worn its viscosity
degrades . This leads to less control of suspension components . Keep your lower legs clean / free of dust/dirt/bug guts .
Seal savers increase the oil life some due to the keep dirt/grime out better than just a seal/wiper alone .
Keep in mind you have bushings in the fork legs that do wear out .
