For those who've had Busa painted/polished rims

Thinking about possibly painting my '05 all black and getting rims polished (or is powdercoating better?). If anyone has done this or just done one or the other, was wondering how much you paid.

There are some places local to me that do this but figured I'd see what others have paid before asking.

A local speed shop charges $125 per wheel for single color powdercoating and $225 for transparent (polished first).

I can take a wheel to a coater and have them done for $75 per wheel (single color). Of course, that price is carry-in, cash-out.

I had some repainting/touchups done on all but one fairing after a crash. Ran me $600 and that was with maching the paint. I imagine it would be a lot easier going a solid color.

you can polish them yourself for about 10 bucks get a can of aircraft paint remover and do the rim part of the wheel and then get a can of aluminum color spray paint the one that has ceramic 1400 degree they sell it at autozone. tape up the rim part and tire and then paint the spokes you cant tell that the spokes arent polished too, because of the discs, sprocket,etc.. they sell everything at autozone.

man 125 a rim......i 125 to get both of mine done. well prices are diffrent evrywhere..
