Same here Over Easy . What about chewing tobacco while workin' out .....probably my worst habit . blush.gif
Back in the day, at times, a buddy and I would split a 12 pack and go do a leg rotuine at the gym...just stupid.
Good times though .....somethin' to tell the grandkids about one day ! biggrin.gif
Ha ha...don't know about that. I've been back in the gym pretty consistently the last 5 months with the wife. Went from weighing an outta shape 215 down to 210 and back up to 223.

Wife went from a size 6 back down to a size 2. W/ 34 DD bust I'm pretty excited about that as you can imagine.

Dayum ! That does sound exciting .....I mean the work outs , not the double D's. biggrin.gif

Actually, I think me committing to going consistently inspired her to go and vice versa at times.

I'm still having a tough time getting her to weight train whereas that'a all I do.

Best ever bench press was only 315, with good form. Last summer I started adventure racing and lost 15 pounds to be more competitive. I went from 170lbs to 155lbs. I have gained back about 10lbs and on a good day now weigh 165lbs. Usually work out with 225 to 245 depending on how good I feel. Yeah, I'm just a light weight!

I could probably push 285 to 295 right now if I tried it. Don't worry so much about max lifts anymore, more concerned with symetry and definition.

Last time I worked out for any length of time, I was lifting 265 for 6 reps as a final burn. Bulked up real fast doing that. Never tried to max out and I don't recall what the vert, decl, and incl were.

Nearly trashed my back one morning doing verts. I was perfectly capable of lifting the weight I had on but for some reason, I did one rep with the wrong form; I was just a hair off and I thought I was going to collapse. Good thing my bud was there to lift it off me. That woulda hurt bad.

Need to get back to it. My morning run/walk got rained out on Friday, worked hard in the yard yesterday and today and tomorrow a.m, back at it!

The team thing does help ! Kinda like a workout partner ....if one feels lazy , the other motivates . wink.gif

315 is dayum good for a 170 body weight !

My lifetime high was 405, put it up in 1998 - single rep max. But I am no freak of nature, basically built like Mike Tyson.

On any given day, I could do 300 once or twice...but I couldnt do 405 right now, -not without about 5 good weeks of training specifically for it. I hardly ever lift anymore.
I am 5'7" and 240.

5'7" and 240 lbs!!! Damn, mike Tyson is about 6' and 210 lbs. Short guys w/ shorter reach have a big advantage in weightlifting. No offense towards ya here, but midgets for example can lift around 3-4x their bodyweight.

Not to make more of this than it is...but Mike Tyson is notoriously 5'9" -5'10". He fought his last fight at 233...

All I did was use a known entity for a description.

Why would I be offended that midgets are benching 3x their bodyweight?rock.gif Are you saying I should bench more than 400lbs?

I did 360 when I weighed 170, is that better? That was 17 years ago.

i havent benched in a couple years but i work out with 130 pounds dumbells in each hand  on the bench
started out i was 130 pounds benchin 115 now im 180 not going to lie though i have done a little nos for your body lol

When I was in high school I weighed 155 and my best was 330 once. Now I am 45 and weigh 170 I can get 275 once. I have to be very careful of my shoulders now a days.

Oh, the glory days of high school. I lifted in state comps. I was in the 115 lb weight class and was 5th ranked in the state. And yeah I still got the medals to prove it. At last meet, I weighed in at 110 lbs., benched 225 and deadlifted 310. Like I said earlier, still got the medals to prove it. That was when I injured my back, it was 10 yrs ago and I had the surgery to fix it last Tuesday. Nowadays when I go workout I don't go for monster strength, just rep the hell out of everything. Oh, and i gained a little weight since then. I'm up to about 170 last time I tipped the scales.

Wow high school days, I just weighed myself I'm 16 pounds heavier now than in high school, I'm only 5'8", never worked out much on the upper body, legs are where I spent my time since my sports use the legs. I put up 245 on the bench last sumer, I figure thats not bad for 42 and out of shape.

Bench? Hrmm....haven't done that in a while. Last time I trained hard (for football in HS) I was hitting 305. Weighed in at 240lbs. Also worked on squats...got up to about 400, I think. Ran my 40 in 4.6

Took a break from training....picked it up about 5 yrs later. Decided to focus more on calves, quads, lats and traps (seemed more fun, for some reason). Also put more focus on my running.

At peak physical form? Ran two miles in 8:45. Single arm rows with 130lbs, shrugs with 320 on the bar, curled with the 85's and used 90's for the triceps. Calf machine was maxed out with 645 (had to do 15-20 reps to feel burn), leg press maxed out at 935 (10 reps). Weight? 210.

Now? wow.gif Haha...don't even wanna try. I'm about as defined as a potato. Aah...but that was the good old days. What do I have to show for it? One strained groin and quad, partially collapsed right arch, knees that pop every morning. Chronic back problems with a hint of neck problems every now and then. Not to mention stiff fingers at times.

The crowning jewel? Doctor says that there's a 95% chance I have tramautic arthritis in my left ankle. Ouch. So much for a late career in sports.

All this, and I ain't even 30 yet. laugh.gif

I knew a guy that owned a bench once. He was a loser.

just kidding. Don't roid rage me, knuckleheads, I'm fragile. tounge.gif biggrin.gif
