im not sure if it is just being a stock bike with mufflers i opened up a bit or the bike, but just over 4500 rpm and under 5k is a very noticable flat spot in accelleration and there is a vibration that starts about there and continues up the rpm range. i have 1400 miles on the bike so it may just be needing to be broken in more. any thoughts?

fully stock bike? yes... get a set of bolt-on's and do the marble.

normal on most stock bikes, it is part of the comprimise made in the stock header/pipe setup.

If you have changed the exhaust your fuel mixture will be off a bit, that could cause the problem. Does it seem to pop and backfire at all?

no popping or backfires, but since it is a mostly stock setup as suggested earlier i will have to get some pipes and a PC, oh well i was wanting to do that anyway. thanks for the help guys!

I'm not sure about the flat spot but the vibration is normal.
