First time pulled over on a busa (interesting story)

ky busa

Registered
went out for a ride did a little over 100 miles obeyed all laws speedo never went over 60mph on the way home I came upon a straight piece of road that was about 1 mile long, there was no traffic around other than a white ford explorer I seen in my mirrors behind me .I didn't think nothing about it so I rolled it in 6th gear got it up to 150mph on the speedo. when I slowed down I saw blue lights on the inside of the explorer :banghead::banghead: so when he got up to me I pulled over and shut the busa off, took my helmet off and the first thing he said was that I'm going to jail :banghead::banghead: then he ask for my drivers license & insurance I STAYED BY MY BIKE AND REMAINED QUIET. It seemed it was taking him a while to run my information. So I walked back to his vehicle on the passenger side and he was mad because he did not have his laptop with him. He said he would have to call someone to come and issue me a ticket. He sat there a minute or two then he asked me, "Had I ever had a ticket on one of those "THINGS" before?" (pointing at my bike). I said "no sir I have never been pulled over on any of my bikes. I told him the last time I got a ticket I was a young man in my twenties." He sat there silent for a couple of minutes and then told me" He was going to give me a break and he was going to let me go with a warning." I told him "that I appreciated that very much and I understand what a huge break he just gave me." Maybe my age and all of the grey hair might have helped me out. Because I wasn't a kid on a sport bike. I guess to sum it up, all in one evening I guess I had bad luck and good luck

Whew! Been there, done that!
An ENORMOUS break! Congrats my friend, will make you think twice from now on for sure!

First off what the heck is that avatar Daniel  It is an improvement :poke:

To the OP: Did you buy a lottery ticket brother

150? You did luck out... The most I've ever been pulled over for was 96...but I was in my car. I just got a hell of a ticket.

Well, this beats my warning for 110. Seems like cops tend to go a bit easy on bikes since we probably only endanger ourselves.

Nicely done Ky. A cop without a laptop...whats he gonna do in the middle of the night...

Gonna be a long shift without Facebook.

RSD.

Yep, real lucky. You need to get the escort 9500 ix radar/laser detector (has GPS to display your speed) and hard wire it to a switched power source. You can go to Legal Speeding.com and get one of those adjustable windscreen mounts for it. Another spot is marcparnes.com for his visual alert (very, very bright small LED display) that velcro's to the top of the detector. Its always nice to know when your being targeted even if your not speeding. I swear by my set up. I have front and rear laser jammers on mine as well (M27 blinder available at www.pashnit.com› Product) and my detector and jammer are wired into my noise isolating ear buds via Mix-It Products priority mix sound set up. This will allow you to have the radar detector given priority over your music and gps if you have one. One ticket ruins your whole week. The money invested is probably less than insurance rate hike, the ticket fine and impound. These bikes are too easy to open up, its a must for me. Take the plunge. Here is my set up stuck to my windscreen (clear for better detection) and runs to my mix it 2 sound priority in tank bag. The whole thing installed in 1 day.

I am going to look into your recommendations, thanks for posting this.

I have been fortunate, much like the OP on a previous bike (ZX12r) and some close calls at lower levels of speeding, but I am sure the luck will run out.
