Anyone have any ideas on the best way to remove the aggravating plastic fasteners used on and around the fairing???

Use a pin to push the center piece of the fastner in as this will lossen the fastener which you can then pull out, voila .

I broke one before I figured this out when installing my ZG double bubble. I felt like an idiot once I realized how easy it was.

What he said. To put them back in just push the pin the other way and install them then push the pin flush again.

Yeah like Rhythm said push in the center pin and the whole rivet will pop out.
