False neutral between 5th and 6th

This has happened 2-3 times since I got the bike a week ago. Changing up from 5th to 6th..then when I select 6th again, it grates the teeth before it engages. Bike is brand new..is this a 'Busa' thing ?

yep...its a busa thing.....totally normal!!!!! it will get better with miles. I STRONGLY recommend not using the clutch when shifting from 5th to 6th.....makes a huge difference.

You may want to lower your shift lever some to get a more positive shift.

For me it comes & goes. Got 5,500 miles on my '06. Haven't had the false neutral for awhile, THEN, had it happen 3 times yesterday. I've gotten to the point where i just don't worry about it anymore.

I have had this happen to mine as well. I have 8500 miles on my 05. I doesn't do as frequently as when I first got it, but once in awhile it still will do it. I asked the dealer and they said that clutch may have an air bubble in the line.

Seems to shift smoother from 5th to 6th , under good acceleration . Try it when you're just puttin' along and then it's worse .

Yeah... Pretty much just be direct, and as other have mentioned maybe adjust your shift lever down a touch.
