Engine casing numbers decipher

I have a Hayabusa engine in my sandrail and I need to figure out what year the engine is so I can put a power commander on it. Does anyone know how to decipher the engine casing code?

I have found that the W701 means that it is 1300cc's.

Otherwise you can check the rotor. Pull the stator cover and count the points on the rotor. If there are 23 points on the rotor its a 02-07 motor and if it's anything else its a 99-01 motor. Thats assuming that the rotor is the same one that came from the factory of course.
