Damn Bryan, I was a network and telecom engineer for 8 years specialized in cctv and access control. I also had a car electronics business on the side throughout and I must say I have never seen that zip tie trick. That is very nifty thank you for sharing. In the world of STP wiring in buildings your points are especially important. Countless times I have encountered non plenum cabling secured to conduit on the outside (shotty contractors adding PC or phone jacks) and the small copper wires break so easy.
