My buddy has a KTM Adventure bike, endless money pit for extra's. I dont know about "ALL" the extras, but the bike is very Utilitarian, lots of room for a six pack and samiches from the store.

Someday I may own a KLR or something for the Utilitarian value:thumbsup:

Im not familiar with this bike but I put double that into my 02 Busa and we all know the Busa is just fine out of the crate

The DL650 and 1000 are great bikes, you gotta remember the target audience for a bike like this is going to be putting a ton of seat time. The extras are to make the trip more enjoyable. When you are going to ride 3-5 times more and further then you would with a sport bike you have to cover more of your bases. We have a guy here in the Asheville area that has put 50k miles on his. Great bikes!

The KTM and BMW make some pretty nice ones too... I bet I have double that in my Busa when the dust settles, but it is pretty comfy at 600-700M a day..

We had a trio of brothers come and buy three DL-1000's a few years back.

Flew in ,got the bikes, drove back home to alaska, took the whole east coast,south, west, then back up though canada.

Uh.. I like the DL, just turning 40,000 on my 04 1000. DL is sweet bike to drive (not the prettiest girl , but puts out :laugh:) if that bike is loaded with 6K in extras, buy it. Save washing the Busa some days.

Just my opinion, but if you already have a Busa, then a good alternative will be either a cruiser, a tourer, or a dual sport. A V-Strom are none of those and all though Suzuki advertises it as a "Dual Sport." it is very far from an off the paving bike.

The V-Strom is a versatile bike, which can do a bit of everything, but it does nothing exceptionally well.

If you want a "Dual Sport" enjoy the Busa on paved road and get something which can take you legally by paved road to offroad and then anywhere from there.

In order of preference, Husky TE610, Suzuki DRZ400S, or a Kawasaki KLR 650.

If you did not have the Busa and you wanted a bike which could do a bit of everything, the V-Strom would be a good option.

I had a DL1000 V-STROM and it was an AWESOME bike. :thumbsup::beerchug:

AWESOME :bowdown:
