Dual exhaust to single

Is it possible to convert the dual to single by blocking or welding the left pipe? My left pip is cut down to where the pipes conjoin.

I would just buy a new or used single exhaust system. Far too many deals out there to bother with something like that

plus one on this 4 into one headers are cheap alone / used on e bay

It's been done many times.
If you have the fab skills and it won't cost you any money, then go ahead.
If you have to pay someone, then it would be better to just buy something aftermarket, which will flow better anyway.
