Pulled into the local shopping centre and this is what was parked with us, next to 100's of everyday cars..

Those are a dime a dozen at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. Every Chinese student has one.

In 79 there were eight rich Saudi students at Humboldt State U and all of them got new Trans Ams, all eight of them. Their parents bought them houses to live in and even though they literally carried rolls of cash they had bed sheets for curtains. Drank like there was no tomorrow and loved the local girls much to the chagrin of of the local boys. One of their shiny new TAs was found burned to the ground one night. Poor kids had no life experience at all. The area police departments had an 800 number to call for any and all bad checks the kids wrote.

Here in British Columbia, fresh (or fresh from overseas) drivers get a "Learner's License" and have to drive around with a large magnetic L on the back of their cars to alert other drivers of their lack of experience. When they upgrade to a full license, they swap their L for a N.

A quick example of Vancouver's newest drivers...
