ok i'm a little confused...

the manual says 319.4mm (12.57in) 20 pitch length...

is this a min lenth or max lenth or is it THE length?

my chain just measured 12.5 or slightly less at different spots along the chain.
i was confused so i measured it over and over and over. i was almost ready to measure 2twice cut once...

so whats the original length?

i mean how much does a chain really streach?

if its original(its gold) then it has 12k on it...

so its close to the limit... UNLESS it only has: say .5in to 1in of actual growth...
and i really dont want to replace it... not yet..

A 530 chain is a 5/8" pitch. 5/8" = 0.625" X 20 = 12.5"

A chain really does not stretch it wears. Think of this as a side view of one of the pin and bearing surfaces on your chain. the bearing surfaces wear allowing the overall length to be longer. This is because the pins are now smaller and the holes are larger and elongated. If you add .004" per pin you are now at 12.580" and over the service limit. Forgive the crude drawing I whipped up.

Ok so basically.. I'm still with in limits?

At 12.5 or less..
I mean I kinda spazed out and checked around and around and every time was that or less...

Oh .. And thanks for the pic.. it did the job..
