Dog Carrier??

So last year, my girlfriend and I decided that we were going to get motorcycles and start taking long trips together. She was new to the sport and purchased a Ninja250. I have had four other sportbiks, so Pashnit talked me into a Busa. Last Christmas we got a little Yorky-Poo (7lbs) and now my girlfriend never wants to go on longer trips (or even shorter ones) because we have to leave the dog at home. Long story short, I figured if I brought the rat....im mean dog with, I can get her out more often.

I wanted to see what ideas you guys had regarding carrying a small (7 lb) dog on the back of a motorcycle. I know there's a comany that makes a metal hard cage that gets bolted off the back, but I think there has to be a better/cheaper way. I was thinking of buying a soft tailbag and having a tailor sew in windows so that the mutt can breath/look out the windows.

Remember before you start, I don't want to do this, this is the only way she'll come out and enjoy the sport with me.

Seriously, I have seen people do this. Good luck though. Not the kind of thing I have confidence with.

Hmmm, side car? I have seen the goldwing bunch bring pets, but they use trailers for the most part.

Make sure you get your dog the proper gear

And have the bike properly equiped

Since it is a small dog, maybe you just want to keep it simple

If it were a big dog, you'd have to get a bit more creative.

I think the best answer is to find a pet sitter or a doggie daycare. This way the pup isn't stressed and you know there in good care. Some of these pet resorts are nicer than places I have stayed away from home

Thanks for the help, guys, keep em coming. Do you guys know of any decent tail bags that could have a window sewn into them??

Sorry Dumb Idea!
I love my dogs, They live in my house, sleep on my sofa, and in the bed. I NEVER want to see road rash on them! If they lived! WE all know the cagers are out to kill us. I would be in prison very quickly something were to happen to my babies!

I saw one at a gas staition a while back. A guy had a black lab on his Harley. He mad a platform and three sides out of wood. It didn't look to safe, but the dog didn't seem to mind.
