Do you see modern "Miracles"?

Have you ever personally seen something you would call "a miracle"? It doesn't matter if you are religious or not.

Again, context open to personal interpretation.

If it was a miracle TO YOU, what was it? Please don't flame each other's miracles

I post mine after the thread gets rolling, as to not slant it in any certain direction

Saw a crippled man in a wheel chair jump up and run around the sanctuary after being prayed for.

Saw my older brother, dying in a wheel chair, healed and able to walk again after prayer.

Saw my little sister who had spinal meningitis(she was paralyzed), cured after prayer

which context of the word do you actually refer too?

miracle, derived from the old Latin word miraculum meaning 'something wonderful'

or

miracle, divine intervention by God in the universe by which the ordinary course and operation of Nature is overruled, suspended, or modified.

the first I see a lot of examples all the time.

ex:
kids being born, the BUSA, a crash I can walk away from and not go broke fixing the damage.

the second I have never seen.

THE BIRTH OF MY TWO GIRLS
+1

We had my son's name picked out month's before his birth and I picked it out so I was obviously familar with it but right after the birth when the nurse asked me what his name was going to be I could not remember it. I can't compare that feeling with anything else.

A couple of years ago my wife needed a surgery to be performed and we sought out not only a second opinion but a third and fourth.  When it seemed the operation was inevitable I asked all of the specialists who they would send their wife or child to and all 4 specialists from Chicago to Cleveland named the same Doctor we decided to schedule the procedure.  After he was finished he came out and asked me to come with him.  We went into a small conference room where he showed me several digital/color pictures of my wifes organs which were before (2 years prior) and after (that morning) the difference was easily noticable to me.  I asked "All this time we have been told it couldn't be removed, how did you do it?"  The doctor asked me if I beleived in God", I told him "absolutely!"  He said "good because there is no modern medical explanation for what has taken place in your wife short of divine inetervention and healing from God in the form of a miracle and I've been doing this for almost 30 years".

So I choose Miracle #2 all the way.

Seriously though. Back in '89 my brother, my cousin, and myself flipped into a canal. The car literally became ariborne while flipping, jumped the guard-rail, and landed in a canal.

Miracle 1 ... we all survived with no broken bones and no head trauma ... and no one of us were wearing our seatbelts.

Miracle 2 ... we all had a premonition. My brother began slowing down (going kinda fast on a wet road), my cousin had his leg resting on the passenger-side mirror and pulled it back in, and I began saying to myself, "if this car flips I'll brace myself by placing my hands on the roof". We all did these things no more than 5 seconds before the car started flipping.

Either way - it's a personal question for unique individual expression here.

I bring up the question because I, personally, have seen many miracles around me, but I would guess many just perceive things as luck, coincidence or random acts of the universe. I've got a relgious background so my definition of miracle involves things I attribute to God's intervention. I can easily see how someone might call it luck from THIER perspective - they don't know the whole back story because they are not me. Seeing an amazing woman so far out of my league, I don't even consider it - then ending up dating her for two years - miracle. Having the EXACT CHANGE in my wallet for purchases probably more than 60% of the time, always shocks me - to me that is a little miracle. May latest one: looking for 10 minutes for a specific CD and not finding it, bought another one instead, got out to the car and tore it open, the insides was cracked, went right back in to replace it wiht the same one, didn't find it but DID find the CD I was originally after - and Best Buy LET ME EXCHANGE IT! THAT's a freaky Miracle if there ever was one.

I saw an old movie recently that said something like, "Maybe micacles are happening all around us these days but we refuse to see them that way."

I was curious if others see things they call miracles. I guess you do!

WOW! That's incredible! I gotta admit that even as a Christian, I find it hard to believe when I hear about stuff like that. I know there are many caniving preachers with fake healings and such, so I am always kinda skeptical - even though I have total faith in God, and certain don't want to undermine what you have witnessed.... I don't know.... it's just hard to accept not having seen that kind of thing myself. I've been to exercisms that turned out pretty freaky wild, so I shouldn't say anything. I guess it has more to do with my lack of trust in man's intensions, than lack of belief in miracles.

I wish more people could witness prayer miracles like that. It could give them more reason to believe. I've seen prayer change lives, but never seen the curing side. There's always these TV shows where the Doctors say people were cured beyond the the ability of medical sciences... that's always cool!

Grain of mustard seed sized faith, can move mountains.

Know what your saying about some of the preachers you see now days. Kinda sad if you think about it. False teaching is gonna get them a nice trip to the Lake O Fire. It would be so much easier to just have faith and preach what God gives them to say instead of faking it.

The changing lives thing, got a good un for ya. How He changed me.

My wife has outlived her doctors' expectations by over 20 years. That, to us, is the miracle of modern medicine.

Here's a video you might appreciate on Benny Hinn. (A fraud, in my never to be humble opinion.)

Personally, I think it's next to miraculous that our country has lived as long as it has in the current worldly climate. May it last another 200+ years!!!
