Just something I was thinking of and don't think I have heard it discussed before.

Seems like a good Idea, what do you say?

I do presently but by the looks of the HID I've bought recently, I won't need to once I install it.

I have HID low beams and I still run the High beam all the time in daytime.

I also pointed both the low and high beams high, nighttime in LA is not dark with all the street lights. If I lived in Poodunck town with dark highways, I wouldn't point them soo high, but in LA I'm more concerned with drivers seeing me than blinding them.

Yep, and I'm continually asking those riding with me (Harleys) to do the same...anything to be more visible... smile.gif

BB, originally I didn't think so either, but it makes a big difference out on the road. Even if someone gets pissed for you for having brights on in the day they damn well know you're there and that's the most important thing.

W/ a new baby and all put your high beams on. OK?

Always. I don't want anybody using the "I didn't see him" excuse at my funeral.

The only problem with this theory is that it doesn't work that way.
If the don't see yer low beam, they won't see yer high beam either.
The eye sees everything, its the brain that "tunes" out anything it
doesn't consider important.

What you want to do is ride with low beams. Then if you spot someone
"not" seeing you, flash yer highs on & off.
This simulates sudden motion overriding the brains block on you.
Going from high to low doesn't trigger the over ride.

That is why emergency vehicles have strobes.
Goldwings use a headlight flasher...impossible to not see 'em.
Unless yer blind. tounge.gif

I don't know about the flashing part bro. I don't want a cager turning in front of me because he thought the flashing was permission to turn. I want to avoid confusion at all times so I never flash my lights.

Always ride with the high beam even at night. I've got stock bulbs/setup so the high beams add much more visibility for me.
