Do new exhaust systems smoke for awhile?

Will they typically smoke for awhile? Ive had my bike idling quite a bit and stuff up to operating temperature a few times but the bike still puffs black smoke every now and then, emits white as well... still waiting to go to a dyno, what ya'll think?

mine smelled a little funny for a while, but i dont recall any smoke. I did start it and run it at night tho, so if it was faint i wouldn't have seen it

Black Smoke - normally associated with running to rich

White/blue - normally associated with oil

Steam/sweet smell - anti freeze and water

First start up will burn off oils and assembly lube but that only last for a couple minutes. If you have black smoke after that is a different problem.

well, its not doing it at idle that i can tell

the bike is running so rich it fouled out my sparkplugs.... when i did the small airbox mod i followed the hose from the airbox down to the connector where theres another hose and electrical connector and i plugged the airbox hoses' connector off, thats correct right?

All vacuum hoses are hooked up properly, electrical connectors plugged in..

Yes. Mine did for about 2 days.
