Disney Cruise...everything you need to know...

awesome pics..especially the whale sharks. I have been in awe of sharks since I was just a wee small boy.

The guy with the oragami towel folding is wasting his life away as you(Ginger) and yer hubbys(Gilligan) cabin boy.

P.S.  don't tell him I called him Gilligan...I abhor violence, especially when its being bestowed upon me

If you can ever see 'em in person RSD, do it...they were absolutely amazing...

So, I'm Ginger 'eh?
tounge.gif
Wow, I feel great today!

But did you get your hair braided?

What about Atlantis? Did you check out the sea life on Atlantis?  Disney cruises are great for families, but i need a Casino on my cruise
biggrin.gif
Great pics it looks like you guys had a blast. Got to love cruising!!!
I was asked MANY times to have my hair braided, but I fought the urge...
biggrin.gif
No braids for me, but after the Nassau stop, tons of gals were running around the ship with braids...

We did take a taxi to Atlantis; beautiful resort, but the ride there and back was pretty sad. The island is so impoverished and the streets/buildings so delapidated, it was just sad to know so many flock there for vacations, yet so many live on nearly nothing.
sad.gif

I was not impressed with Nassau at all...felt like a huge tourist trap...

We didn't go to the Atlantis aquarium because they wanted $30/person and we had just a few hours. We were stopping by the GA aquarium later in the week, so we passed.

biggrin.gif

Two things... First, the pics and your description of everything makes me wish I was 5 years old again and lived on that ship! Glad ya'll had a good time.

Second, you came to ATL and not so much as a phone call while you were in town... I'm pizzed.
cussing.gif
I know BT...I thought about contacting you before we left, but I knew the reality was that my hubby would never make a stop for me to meet someone from "the board"...you weren't the only one making offers to meet up...just not in the cards...
sad.gif

But, I thought about you all the way through GA, which by the way is the most heavily patrolled state I've been through! Police cars all along the interstate! We took I-95 down and I-85 back up, and saw cop car after cop car...I wondered all the way through each small town if I'd passed where you live...bummer...I know...

Looks like a great time, Michelle!  Have thought of taking a cruise for a number of years and hopefully will get to next summer.  Plan to go the opposite way though.  Gonna head to Alaska, I think.

On a side note, you ought to bust 10k posts if you play this one right!
laugh.gif
AK?!!!! Not for me...I have inlaws up there and to this day they complain that we've never visited 'em up there...when I have time off and some cash, I head where the palm trees grow!!!

I've heard the AK cruises are beautiful though...you'll enjoy it...

It was a great trip guys and gals...glad you enjoyed the pictures...I wished I'd taken more of the ship, inside the lobbies, the restaurants...but, having a sick 3 year old for much of the trip kind of made my life seem a bit foggy...
smile.gif

I have been to Disney World and done the Orlando thing many times pre-kids...I just couldn't imagine dragging 'em there (not little ones anyway) and hearing "I'm tired, I want to go home, are we leaving yet?" Those parks cost way too much to just walk around for an hour before the complaining sets in
laugh.gif

If your kids get bored on the ship, you're just a quick elevator ride away from the room where you can take a break. There's always something going on, so once they're rested, you head back out...it was the perfect vacation with kids...no driving around looking for parking places, no whiny kids following 10 paces behind because "you're walking too fast"...no moving from hotel to hotel...

For those of you thinking about doing it (Warren)
smile.gif
...go for it...

NOTE: If you travel after Dec. 28, 2006 to the Bahamas, you will need a passport. We were slated to need one for our trip, but the date was pushed back. Passports for kids run $80+, so for a family of 4, you're looking at nearly $400 for passports...just an FYI if you want to travel soon, do it before that date!

Next time just give me your vehicle description and route and I can pull you over coming through. I can pull you out for field sobriety and have hubby stay in the car.
biggrin.gif
And I totally understand. I was just givin' ya a ration of shid anyway. You know it's all good with me.

Very nice Michelle glad you and your family had a wonderful time. How did your Kids Like being on that big ole boat(ship)? after going on mine, I could imagine what it would be like to be just a kid when everything is a big adventure. that may be the reason I like cruising so much it kinda brings the adventure back to me.

They loved it! My 3 year old kind of kept forgetting he was on a ship, but the 5 year old had a blast!

Yeah, I wished my parents could have done something like that with my sister and I when we were kids. I would have had a blast!

Well, it was on my mind the entire damn ride! I'd wished I'd gotten your cell phone or something...
mad.gif

We nearly broke down in GA...had some issues with the Jeep on I-85 just before the SC border...had a belt going, but believe it or not, the old Jeep limped all the way back to VA! Had we broken down, I surely would have regretted not knowing your number!
tounge.gif

So you're close to ATL then?

Close enough to ATL for the benefits but far enough away to avoid most of the hassles.

I'm about 35 minutes from ATL.

Sounds like your Family & yourself had a good time there Michelle & thanks for sharing them pics... Gotta admit also how the room service dude made some great looking animal figures...

Damn damn damn...I could have at least told you we'd be at the GA Aquarium and I'd just *bump* in to a fellow Busa-shirt wearing guy...
tounge.gif

We'll head back down for that one day...when the whale sharks get bigger!
cool.gif

BTW, we stayed about 20 minutes north of ATL the night before...the ATL traffic was unreal!!! Felt like it took an hour to get to our exit...
