UK one is miles faster 
Metric vs. standard gauges . The Gen I US didn't come with Euro running lights but the Gen II does. Maybe emissions.
From memory now I think one required a little more oil than the other ???

Our American cousins version has reflectors, fwd and aft, at each side of the bike.
Euro bikes are specific to some country's in Europe, for instance some country's may have a BHP limit, whilst the UK ones do not.
Also in UK the speedometer is also in MPH where as the mainland Europe ones are in KPH.

Euro bikes also have an electronic key Immobilization and the bikes come in different colors.
I remember a gold one
+1, bike's with immobilizers have a small orange/red light next to the lock cylinder on the ignition switch.
