Just wondering as I have seen it around the boards about the 1340. What is the difference? I know CC's, but is there a distinction to know if you have one or the other? I am the third owner of my bike and the 19yr old kid I stole it from didn't know a whole lot about the bike as he owned it for only 2 months.

99-2007 was 1300 and 2008-current are 1340.

From my dunce stool :cookoo:

You mean to tell the motors apart. Perhaps the confidential serial number on the engine case should help. but I think LEO is the only one that can run the number on the case

Not sure???

The ECU's are different so maybe checking the part number on the ecu will suffice ???

1340 is a stroked 1300 (which is actually a 1299) that the Gen 2's (08+) have stock. There are other differences between the motors as well, but the added displacement is the main improvement.

Oh ok. Thanks guys. Just had that random thought because I have seen it around on the boards and didn't know if there was a 1340 in the 99-07 models. Thanks!

Stroke of the crank
