Wondered how many folks put this off for colder days; or did most everyone run straight down to their dealership for a fix.

YEP, didn't wait got it done...

Nope, Waiting for winter on this one...

There's a recall?

are you talking about ignition switch wire recall? if so, i have not done anything yet, 5000 miles on the bike and no issue. i am not concern about it, it is probably few isolated cases.

I got with the dealer and got it all setup so there would be little downtime involved. I rode it in, they performed the work and I rode it out. It took about 2 hours total..

took mine in after the tech had done a few and figured out how to do it in 15 minutes.
He stated mine needed it. Some he said are worse than others. He can look at them and tell you if it is critical or not. Meaning get in right away or wait.
Personally, I would not mess around, get in and get er done.

why wait for it to fail and have a problem.

I took mine in when i had the first service done. Why would anyone take a chance. Its like playing Rusian Roulette.???

Bought mine 6/30/08, according to the dealer shipped fixed. Hopefully I would have received a letter from Zuki if there was an issue. Yes/No?

had mine done right after i received the info. the dealership is about 3 blocks from my work so it was no trouble to do.

I inadvertently ended up performing this recall myself (sorta), many months before it was even issued.

Just 2-3 weeks after getting the bike, I was installing Heli-Bars when I noticed the wire harnesses going to the ignition and left control switchboxes were brutally tight, particularly upon full left lock. I loosened all of the wire bundles in this area. I did not replace the ignition switch itself, so technically, the recall should still be performed.

But it is not going to be. I am not tearing into the bike unnecessarily.

At 31,000 miles, I think if there was going to be an issue here, it likely would have shown itself by now. :beerchug:

The recall fell right in line with the timing of my 14k service, so I had them do the work at that time.
