Has anyone has any issues with the ballast and HID's from DDM as of late? just wondering as I did manage to take a break from school and visit their shop in SD and ended up picking 3 sets of H7, H9 and they all also had the Switchbacks (60 SMT AO) that will be going back with me to hawaii for test and trial on the 06 busa.
PS i found the Switchback for only $14.99 which is def a nice price, just don't have much expectations for them yet until I can compare with the Autolumination bulbs

i recently installed 2 sets of DDM tuning HIDS kits on a ninja 300, and a ninja 650R. although they have not had alot of use, the build quality seemed good. and they worked right out of the box.

in the past i also installed some in a ZZR600, katana 750, ninja 250, and a ZX10 and never really had any issues.

the worst issue i have encountered was a bad bulb that had a really long warrenty replacement time period

My first set of HID's were from DDM.
my expierence.
Awful long time for delivery 2 weeks.
Back then the qaulity in my mind was good.
The high beam ballast failed within 3 months and low beam began flickering a month after.
Now I know others that are running ddm and haven't had these issues.

Its a typical chinese crap shoot.. you may get lucky or you may not, how would you like to be 100 miles from home to find your chinese electronics failed?

i've had buddies that went through them and had great success but i've also ordered through them for my old 5.0 and my wife's wrx and i've been less than satisfied. at first the passenger side wouldn't power on all the time which was "fixed" with the relay kit they offer, and now the are constantly flickering whether it's warm or cold. i've checked and check all the wiring to ensure it's all tight and nothing is frayed or loose. as a matter of fact, the wife just got stopped going onto base today and was threatened with a ticket if we didn't fix it.

i have had them before with no complaints but not sure if want to install their kits in the wifey suv.. thanks for all the replies.. as a mater of fact already have a bunch of other sets to go back to hawaii with me and a few kits for the wifey suv, o well will see how it goes...

I think alot of folks here are using them in their bikes. I've not heard too many if any complaints that I can remember about them? Personally I've had their kit in my bike for over three yrs without fail on the bulbs or either ballast. They do have a lifetime warranty on all as well. I paid approx $25 a piece. Each one was same kit just with different bulbs, one for hi and one for low.

I've had mine in since last August. Two weeks ago smelled burning plastic from my dash area so went into damage control and started tearing it all apart. Discovered the low beam bulb to be shorted and the wires fell away/melted from the actual bulb. DDM gave a return authorization for the return but require me to ship the bad bulb before they send me a replacement. I can't go a month waiting for a warrantied out bulb. Got stuck having to order a replacement and will be sending the bad one back in the new box to hopefully get back as a backup. Just my experience and pretty disappointed with the lengthy turnaround and longevity.

i hear some of the concerns and that is why i i ended up buy four kits h7 and four h9 kits in total with 8 60 smt switchback leds just in case.. believe it or not living in hawaii have its drawbacks...

I've had them in my car for about a year and around 40,000 miles. The first issue I noticed is that my hi-beam indicator light no longer turns on in the gauge cluster. The only real problem I ever had with them was about a week after installation. One side would not light up, and the other side would not turn off even after I turned off the light switch and the ignition switch. That was strange. The only thing I could come up with on that was that I had just driven a few feet away from a very large neon sign, so maybe that played a role in the problem? That problem corrected itself within about an hour, and they've been good to go ever since.
