HUMMM ABOUT 6,400 MILES RIDING TIME AND CRASH FREE, THANK GOD. GOING INTO MY SECOND SEASON. MY FIRST BIKE EVER WAS A 99 COPPER BUSA INWHICH I SOLD THIS YEAR TO GET THE 04 PURPLE AND BLACK , WISH ME LUCK

My first wreck on the street was a bad one for me, 8/99, this happened two months after my heart attack 6/99. I was fixing up/getting running my friends 83' Kawisaki LTD, it's was overcast skys that day at my shop where there's a big parking lot, i decided to take the bike for a spin around the lot. While riding it started raining, i thought "better head back it's getting slick" and thats when it happened, in my turn(about 5-10mph) i went into a 2 wheel slide from some sand, the front caught traction the back swung around then the bike highsided me.
I guess i was trying to jump over the bike during the highside and the damn sissy bar nailed my leg and i smacked the ground like a ragdoll(I'm 6'3 275)so it was a hard hit.
When i awoke on the ground, i was on my back, my legs were straight and i thought "cool, i'm alright". My friends that seen what happened asked me if i was allright and told me to walk it off. As i was taking a step with my left leg i looked down a watched my left leg bend sideways and touch my right leg.
Well, the accident left me with a completely severed inner ACL,both inner MCL ligaments. The Othipedic surgeon told me if i was a pro ball player he'd give me a 50/50 chance of a comeback. $28K later i'm fine. Thank god for insurance.
I guess you could say i recovered, but my left leg just isn't the same.
