crankcase breather

Hey everyone,
My 07 busa has a few things that I know nothing about and I need some advice, there is a rubber tube leading to the tail section that has a crankcase breather filter on the end, sometimes there is oil (very little) that comes out and I'm wondering do i need this? why is it in the tail? and should I move it ?

It's something some racers do.. you can run a line from breather back up to bottom of air box and that's how it was stock..
