Clutch Cover

I just installed a chrome clutch cover. I replaced the factory gasket, mounted the cover and tightened the bolts. I ran the engine and saw a few drops of oil coming out. I killed the engine and tightened the bolts more, and more, and I still get small drops of oil. I'm worried what will happen if I keep tightening the bolts.

Anyone know if I should have used a gasket sealant in addition to the factory gasket?

I wonder if the flanged face was warped a little. I put on a woodcraft stator cover I didn't use any gasket sealer and so for no leaks.

If it is leaking I would try some sealer.

I re-did the job with sealant. Once it cures (24hrs), I'll post the results.

I also changed my stator cover, and did not need sealant, and had no leaks.
