Chinese levers arrived won't fit

i am guessing he meant .020 thousands or .5 microns,, half a millimeter. i would sand down the chrome on the leaver. a good hand file will give you a flatter surface than a dremmel tool. mask of the part that shows and slowly sand down the chrome.

I've never heard of chrome being that thick, iirc that's closer to hard chrome specs, x2 on the hand file. Also fwiw if op measurements are accurate your talking about the same thickness as human hair. I don't really see a part not fitting at all to fitting correctly In that small amount of space

turn a belt sander on it's side, bungee cord it securely; hit it a little, test fit, repeat as needed.....install and ride off into the sunset!

First complaint about fit on a busa I have heard. If all else looks right, I'd try grinding the lever down with sand paper block. Or, if you can stomach possibly getting hoodwinked, try ordering again. Only other report of poor fit I heard was on a ZX-14. I'll be putting mine on my 14 soon. Hope they work. Busa will get some golds if they work on the 14.

Damn, you think we have to take a poll of color to know which ones to oder?

Any other the 2wheel chromes out there?

Only complaint I have so far is that the blue grips do not match the blue of the levers.
still, so cheap I will be very satisfied as long as they fit and work.

^^^^Again, these are for a ZX-14, if anyone sees anything that looks wrong for busa levers.

Thats too bad they dont match :poke: But yeah I guess in that scenario the price outweighs the difference in color

I'm no machinist but obviously take the time to smooth them down so they opperate without grindind against other parts. That's what I would do.

The photo makes the colors look closer than it appears in real life. The grips are a purply blue and the levers are a neutral blue a bit lighter in tone. Impossible to see everyone's monitor out there but the color the2wheel shows on eBay and the2wheel store represents the lever color very well on my screen which is latest iMac typically used for art apps.

It's not too bad. Most of the time unless you get your parts anodized at the same place and time the color will be off.

Yea, I would use the finest grit available, slow and easy....for once no instant gratification!

Buy the cheapest grinder/sander you can.. preferrably at Harbor Freight... and then make sure to post up when it works fine...cause it will I just got one.

I hope you get it worked out, since you're a member and you need help. If it's the chrome, it wouldn't matter if they were Pazzo's. Keep us posted on your progress, and good luck.

You think it's bad now. It will get worse as the blue anodize on the levers will fade.

i see it like this do what afterhours said and contact the seller and try to resolve the issue. If it is the right part then just file it down to make it fit. If you don't want to file them down then PM me on a price and let's make a deal i been wanting some chrome shorties.

Now for the thread jack. My personal opinion of all this:

Everything we own, use eat, drive, wear or whatever has a manufactuers/sponsors name tag attached to it somewhere. I can't tell you the last time i bought clothes, shoes, food, TVs, cars or motorcycles from a manufactuer with no name. The last person i saw buy from ACME was Wiley Coyote and it never seemed to turn out well for him. Even your home has a name attached to it by the builder. The name brand parts that are currently selling here in the US are 90% likely being made OCONUS. Theres this thing called reverse engineering and the greed of the dollar, yen euro or peso that gets these chinese made items thrown into the mainstream world of sales. Why you ask, with the economy the way it is basically everybody trying to make a buck and some of it is good reproduction and other stuff out there is crap. Me personally my mindset of expensive is not necessarily always better but that's me. Somethings you can just look at and tell its cheap and i won't buy just because the quality is crap. Just by photo the chinese and the high end item Pazzo look identical. With that being said i would read reviews andmake my own assumptions. i would probably purchase the chinese version of it if the quality is present. In the end, if it's all about money and someone can afford it then buy the high dollar stuff but me i'm employed by Uncle Sam so i buy what i can afford.

End of jack move and i now return you to the regularly scheduled program.

there was a time when a biker, actually had to work on his bike. I am flabbergasted that a silly thing like levers not fitting has gotten some in a tizzy. This is a simple fix.

anybody that has ever chromed parts will tell you, this is common.

I was using his numbers.. when we machine our parts and send them out for chrome its usually get .003-.010 for chrome or even cad. His actual measurement of .010 made more sense, either way file em down and use em.

OK update on the levers. I took you guys advise and sanded down the clutch lever. First with a grinding wheel and then with sandpaper. fit is very good. they both feel great, the brake fells allot more responsive than before, i guess it's because of the adjustments I made to the lever I can now get a much better grip and pull. thanks for everyone who responded and who gave advice. here are some pics.IMG_0173.jpg
