ok , sure , wow . How bout some video hero . Anyway,

1. yer motor can have its oil supply disrupted during long wheelies .

2. that said....it could be hard on yer....

but then again.....if you can "Hang 'Em,an' Bang 'Em".....

Have Gute 1....RSD.

im so light that if i have it racin i to have to change into the next gear while still doin another wheelie from the previous gear. im only 130 lb. 16 years old and the girls love it when i pop wheelies. hopefully ill be even better when i get older.
im glad i dont have an yamaha r6 or else id be popping wheelies everytime.(still workin on stoppies though)

If you like wheelies and stoppies so much, y r u buying a busa? There are much better bikes for such things... Just curious...

shifting in the air s cool but on a busa each will mean great speed increases.Better not crack it at the wrong time or it wont be so cool for long.Remember many will say wheelie wheelie, you pull it off the longer the better your a bike god.Dump it once and the reception is that of a bum.

:super: I'm sorry, I'm having a little trouble with the idea that you think that you have to change gears because you're so light.

You think because you're so light that you can't help but pull a wheelie every time you get on the gas? And then when you are up there you have to shift because the engine is racing so hard? Won't it come back down when you let off the gas?
Please explain further.

The kid is trying to flex...I haven't had a problem mechnically with swapping while up...But who knows the next time maybe the last time...If he's racing then he doesn't want that much air anyway...So he's got to be showing out...16yoa, girls, wheelies...Bad mix...TommyB please give some consideration for the safety of your passengers...It would be bad enough for you to lay it down yourself but think of the trauma if you skinned up one of those girlies...

Uh, post some pics...Or Quit with the BS and try to get real for moment... Sorry man, I'll call it...BS...

Besides if your doing a lot of wheelies your tranny wear is the least of your concerns when it comes to abusing your bike...

YES. Any power shift (such as mid wheelie) will eventually damage your tranny, period. Sooner or later the gear dogs (pins) will wear down and will no longer properly engage and either it won't shift properly or more likely it will not stay in gear and will disengage without your input. It then adds up to a rather expensive repair and a lot of downtime to tear your bike apart for part replacement.

If you wanna play, you gonna pay.....sooner or later.

Showing off for the young ladies huh. Really guy, no one here is trying to put you down but a busa is not a toy and certainly not for an immature inexperienced rider (no offense) such as yourself. Most of us here have been riding for 10-20 years or more. If you have the tallent and the desire to trick ride, more power to you. But doing it on a Busa is a mistake and you will pay for it, I guarantee it. The bell tolls for thee my friend. I hope you survive and we are all wrong.

In theory...
When you are doing a wheel stand, after the bike is vertical, you are not hard on the gas (If you are you go over backwards!) so shifting while in the air would not be to hard on your tranny.
Also RSD is correct about starving the engine for oil.
However...
The rest of it sound like you are too cool for my school.
Good luck to you.

This is true......and I do wanna see some footage.

And yeah, changing gears on one wheel WILL eventually tear second gear out of your tranny.  Or shred a gear and lock up the tranny.

As far as the oil you can talk to a mechanic buddy if you have one and put an additional line from the oil sending unit so when you're at like 11:30-11:45, like some of us do, it will still send oil to the engine and not into the airbox.

im all done with wheelies and stoppies thats why i bought the busa. they just get u hurt or killed.
