Change Exhaust cam to Intake cam.

The valve pockets in the GenII are not as deep and the intake pockets, so you would have to be careful to check clearance. Also bear in mind that the clearance is not at its closest at TDC but actually a few degrees after it, as the valve is moving faster than the piston for a while, moving closer to it before the piston accelerates away down the bore.

You will, most likely, suffer poorer idle quality and reduced cylinder scavenging at low speed. Emissions will be higher too, particularly HCs, and the motor will likely want a richer low-speed AFR than it did previously to run smoothly. The boffins at Suzuki have many things to consider when reaching a compromise that is inevitable on a road vehicle, many of them environmentally driven more than performance.

That said, it would likely make more power through the mid-range due to the increased overlap and more top-end if your exhaust system is suitably configured.

Only dyno-tuning and testing will show you the real losses and gains.
