Chain length

Anyone know right off if a stock gen2 chain is long enough for a +3 rear sprocket? I want to play with the gearing some before I buy the front and new chain too. And I don't want to drop any on the front, I've heard the old "down one in the front is the same as up 3 in the back" and I disagree, I can tell the difference(beeen there done that) and prefer to go up in the rear.

Just did plus three last week. Stock chain will work fine.
