Cary Aspy was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident Monday evening while on his way home from a weekend riding trip to Tennessee. His Kawasaki KLR650 was a source of pride and was used to develop many aftermarket performance enhancing products for other owners in recent years. Cary had worked for Ehlerding Cycle for 13 years before coming to Schnitz Racing in August of 1992 as the service manager, cylinder head specialist, and engine builder. He was also a neighbor to the Schnitz family for 27 years. Cary was happy to offer any advice and answer questions in detail for anyone who asked. He will be truly missed.

Cary A. Aspy, 49, of Decatur died Monday, October 6, 2008 at Adams Memorial Hospital following a motorcycle S.U.V. accident in Southern Adams County.

Cary was born in Decatur on August 22, 1959 to Ronald D. & Jane C. (Laurent) Aspy.

Survivors are his parents Ronald & Jane Aspy of Decatur; a brother Steve D. (Robin) Aspy of Wolcottville, IN; a sister Rhonda J. Aspy of Decatur, IN; three nephews Taylor J., Devin S. & Chandler P. Aspy of Wolcottville, IN and the Paternal Grandmother Merle Neireiter of Angola, IN.

Cary worked for Schnitz Racing in Decatur.

Calling hours are from 4-8 pm Thursday, October 9, 2008 at Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home, with reciting of the Holy Rosary at 3:30 pm.

Private funeral services will be held and burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials are to St. Joseph School.
