"Carbon look" tank cover in the rain?

I seem to remember when I had a "bra" on my old toyota they warned about water causing the paint to fade because the moisture got trapped somehow. OTOH, I left the bra on for a few years and never saw any fade.

...So, is there any problem with paint fade or the like if I leave the tank cover on my bike? It fits ok, and I like what it does for my bike.

I have seen paint fade, but is from the part that is not protected Deep sun beats down and fades darker full colors. Not sure if this happens with more modern paints these days.

Mcoyote, how do you like that CF tank bra? I have the regular one from last year and just ordered a new CF one.
