Can someone help the "new guy?"

Boy Glad I found this site. I just purchased a year 2000 with both a header and Yoshimura muffler.It also has the Power Commander 2. Today started it for the first time after getting it . Started fine but within 5 minutes ( The temp was right in the middle) the heat from the header pipe's was so hot it was causing the paint to get soft were the cut out is in the fairing on the right side if your sitting on the bike. (Bike was repainted ) I also had what looked like flames come out the pipe after rev'ing it from 1200 rmps to about 6500 rmps. Is my bike running rich? The power comander shows only on bar lite ( Lean) at 1200 rmps but goes almost to the middle if I rev it. I don't know how long the bike was sitting before I got it but the gas seems fine. It also has a bad flat stop when you hit it at 2000 rpms in 2nd then it goes right to 8500 rmps without a problem. Thanks for any help.

Sounds like the Power Commander doesn't have the right map for your mods. You should take it to a reputable tuner and get it dyno tuned.

+1 one on that you might even think about wrapping your pipes to help with the heat off the headers and put some heat sheilding on you fairing to keep it from burning your paint and fairing.

I guess that I would start with a zero map on the P/C, then I'd look at the plugs. Let' start there.

The power comander is not an A/F guage. I believe the light you are seeing shows the amount of throttle being applied.
