------ event details ------
This year, for the Fifth Annual All-Star Ride for Life, to benefit the Duke
Children's Hospital, the honorary Grand Marshalls will be: (drum roll please)

Scott Russell - Five-time Daytona 200 Winner and former World Superbike
Champion

Jamie Hacking - Current AMA 600 Supersport Champion and current Superstock
points leader, Factory Yamaha rider.

Kurtis Roberts - Current MotoGP rider for Team Proton, and former 600
Supersport Champion and two-time Formula Extreme Champion.

Ben Bostrom - Former World Superbike rider for Ducati, now Factory Honda
Superbike racer, and I think he was a former AMA Superbike Champion, but I
might be wrong on that one.

Eric Bostrom - (This one is still 50-50 as he might have to be somewhere
else, he's going to let me know asap). Former AMA 600 Supersport Champion
and Kawasaki rider, now riding the Team Austin Ducati 999.

Aaron Yates - (This too is still tentative, he'll let me know definitely
next week). Former AMA 600 Supersport Champion and Team Yoshimura Superbike
pilot.

Jamie James - Former AMA 600 Supersport Champion and Superbike Champion,
now working as consultant for Ohlins in AMA and World Superbike.

Mike Smith - Former Honda Superbike rider, and most recently rode for Team
Harley-Davidson on the VR-1000. Now campaigning in F-USA.

Scott Carpenter - AMA Superbike Privateer and multi-time WERA National
Champion, riding the RonAyers.Com Suzuki 1000.

Brian Stokes - 2003 AMA Horizon winner for the rider showing the most
promise as an up-and-coming racer. Currently running the table in F-USA racing.

The All-Star Ride for Life will be in Raleigh NC, on Saturday, September
11th, with a big VIP party the night before, on the 10th. The VIP party and
the ride both begin at Scooter's Bar and Grill in Raleigh. Sign up is at 9
a.m., and the ride begins at 11. We'll visit some of the area's best
motorcycle dealers, have lunch at the Hard Times Cafe, and then head out to
the Children's Hospital under police escort, where we'll meet some of the
kids and their families. Then it's back to Scooter's for a big after-party
and a bike show. There will be tons of prizes given away, and every
participant in the ride gets a really cool T-shirt too. So come ride with
us and raise some money for some kids that really need our support. You can
PM me if you need any further information, or contact me at Duke at
919-668-2934, just leave a message if I'm not in the office when you call,
I spend a great deal of my day out in the hospital, not in the office. And
if you're too far away to come ride/party with us, then you can still help
out these kids. T-Shirts are only $20, (plus $5 for postage and packaging
please). Just PM me and I'll send you the address where you can send the
money. And the donations are all tax-deductible, as the checks are made out
directly to the Duke Children's Miracle Network. So make plans to attend if
you can, and join some great riders for some serious fun. You can also type
'scooters bar and grill' into your search engine and it will show you the
website. (Actually the ride itself will have a website sometime next week,
but it's not up yet). The ride's site will be www.allstarride.org but as I
said, it's not up yet.

We'll have free track days to give away, courtesy of Cornerspeed.net and
Sportbike Tracktime, and free tires, helmets, a Vanson Leather Jacket, and
much much more. Plus we'll have several celebrity items up for auction on
ebay at the same time as the ride, so be sure to look for them. We'll have
items like:

Kurtis Robert's Leathers and helmet
Jamie Hacking's Leathers and helmet
Jake Zemke's Leathers, boots and gloves
Giovanni Bussei's Leathers (Team Austin Ducati)
Ben Bostrom's Boots, gloves and back protector
Miguel Duhamel's gloves
An Arai helmet that's been signed by EVERYONE that's anyone in motorcycle
racing, including Freddie Spencer, Kevin Schwantz, Scott Russell, the
Bostroms, the Haydens, all factory riders of every brand, and even Sadowski
and Drebber and White of Speed TV.

Hope to see a lot of you there. Friday and Saturday, Sept. 10 and 11.
