There's that road again, Tim what road is that? Looks very inviting, nice pics and yes it does feel great to be back on the bike again.

Gene, this lil gem is Bolinas Ridge Rd, aka Ridgecrest Rd. It's due north of San Francisco and at the right out of view in these above pics is the entire Pacific Ocean in all it's splendor.

It's only a couple miles long and inside the confines of the Golden Gate National Recreation area - incredibly scenic as you can see!

Book cover look familiar?

And to further the information overload - here's the actual on-board video I shot of the stretch of Bolinas Ridge Rd.

Watch as the ocean comes in and out of view.

Thanks Tim, just trying to get route ideas for the next trip over to the coast. You know, unique interesting roads to hit on the way to Skaggs.

Special treat for me, one of our riders Ron had just bought this brand new '08. Only had a 100 miles on it and the wax still on the chain.

The photos don't do it justice really, the punkin orange Busa is just a beautiful machine up close!!

When Ron came on his first Pashnit Tour several years ago, he was on an ST1300. Then came the Harley and he rode that on a couple tours.

Now he's selling the Harley. This lil number is taking its place. :welcome:

You want to ride it? Could I? :cheerleader:

The ascent and descent on the north end of Bolinas Ridge goes something like this:

The ocean side is goaty, but still pretty wide two lane.

BolinasRidge3.jpg

The eastern descent is narrow, tight & switchbacky. 20-25 mph descent. Awesome!

View at the bottom is Alpine Lake, one of the water reservoirs for San Francisco.
