Never Forgotten
As most know, my 99 Busa started popping out of 2nd gear at my last track day at VIR. With the Fall season busy and I wanted to go ahead and get the problem fixed.
I dropped the bike off at Lee's Performance for a little r and r. I have know Lee for quite a few years and know he can work a little magic.
My Busa had 23k and what better time for an upgrade that when the motor has to be apart. My bike had an AKRO pipe, small box mod and an intake cam on the exhaust side basically a Lee's Stage 2. Putting out 175 and change to the wheel.
Lee knows how I ride in the mountains and suggested I stay with the stock bore and just do a ported head, bored throttle bodies and a custom map.
Of course new rings were to be used along with new springs, valves, shift forks and fixing the 2nd gear problem.
I got the call today and with very little street miles the ole 99 put down 187.29 rwhp and 107.57 rwtq.
I also had a Bazzaz shifter installed. It works similar to the Dynojet quick shifter, it just offers a little more adjustment.
I hope to go and pick my Busa up early next week. A full ride report to follow from the Bash.
