Here's my nav bracket for a Garmin Nuvi. I severely dislike most all the mounts on the market, as (to me) they're awkward or cumbersome in placement, or seem to 'take over' the dash/gauge area. I ride with my nav hooked up 100% of the time, so it's important to have it mounted accessibly, but out of the way. Had this same setup on my last bike, GSXR1K, for over 4 years with not a single issue. Hope this helps someone who shares my need for nav and dislike for available brackets.
Sketched out a loose idea on posterboard (that other bracket is unused from my heated grips):
Dremel the ball joint off the back of a Nuvi bracket and 'tune in' the sketch:
Transfer it to some plastic stock, cut and begin to shape and heat & bend it:
Reinforce the bend with Gorilla Glue and Gorilla Glue the Nuvi clip to the plastic stock (double check for fitment and angle and let it sit overnight):
Metal reinforcement - a $1 lumber brace from Home Depot - very thin and strong. Cut and shape:
Drill appropriate holes, use longer screws and washers, and screw it to the clip-on mount:
Done deal. Hardwired in to its own switched circuit (on and off with the key):
