if he used a muzzy titanium full exhaust system, he probably made 25 more horsepower on the wheel.

Funny thing is, bone stock they pick up 5 hp with a tune. So gaining 5whp? Bet you could gut the cats and pick that up.

Or pretty much any liter bike, Kawasaki H2, ZX14R, etc, etc...of course they walk the Gen 2 as well...

Even stock for stock a Gen 2 isn't that much faster.

There are many factors besides just hp which determine the outcome of a bike race from light to light or whatever, weight, gearing, rider ability etc. Sure, on paper a gen 2 and literbikes will beat a gen 1, but I've never raced on paper...

Not stock and didn’t break 150 whp? I had mine run with stock pipes and a set of modified stock pipes. The stockers netted just under 161 whp, 160.? but not quite 161. The modified set got five less hp but they sure sounded better. Always thought mine ran pretty good.

If you look at a Gen 2 with 197 crank hp, they generally pump out 173ish rwhp so the net difference is similar to the gen 1 with parasitic loss.
