Busa Bonanza UK

Many years back Performance Bikes Magazine used to do similar events and run a feature on them.

There was a “Cult of the Elsie” one with all tuned and modified Yamaha RD250 and 350LC’s. Very popular in the UK as the 250 was a learner bike and the 350 very tuneable.

I liked the “Katana Frenzy”. All 80’s aircooled Kats, drag bikes, monster builds, Streetfighters etc.

Im pretty sure there were others too.

The 1100 Kat really was the Busa of its day.

100% agree with that, the Katana had (and still has) a huge cult following....

I remember seeing the first one when they came out and thinking that they were as close to a space ship as I could imagine....230kms/hr out of the box and with a jetting change could reach 240kms/hr....in 1981 that was warp speed...
