Burnout or wheelie?

Might seem like a dumb question (and I'm not talking about when you're standing on the front brake w/ your a$$ off the seat vs. leaning back with your weight on the back)...

but how do you folks know when you're gonna launch hard enough to break the back end free as opposed to hooking up enough to lift the front high and take off (or something in between)?

Seems that with the light literbikes, you're more apt to have difficulty keeping the front end down during launch whereas on a Busa the rear wants to break free first.

It takes a while to learn but you just have to get use to the bike and what it will typically do but.......

IT IS ALWAYS DIFFERENT!

You have to take in to consideration a lot of things. Tire TEMPS, surface cond., surface temps, throttle pos., bike speed(when it happens), chain slack, etc. etc.

It is really hard to explain but you just have to be ready and know what to do when one or the other or BOTH occurs! DON'T PANIC and keep riding it until your out of the situation!

Generally if your tire is COLD, you will be more likely to spin then if you just did a HOT smokey burnout! You have to take all those things into consideration before you drop the HAMMER!

It's best to be SMOOOOTH with the throttle and clutch when this occurs!

You don't want to be jerky with one or the other.
