Broken Triple Tree Stand Pin

As discussed, here's the broken pin. I did everything per their instructions. New pin should be on the way. You should be able to figure out the brand...

but looks like that thing might found a nice little stress riser in some overly hardened steel...

WOW! That is one clean fracture! Is that pin even the right diameter? It looks like it may have been loaded laterally and gave out. Do you think the pin would be properly aligned with the bore in the bike's lower clamp when the stand is in the fully raised position?

how are those things mfg'd? I'm thinking may not have been properly tempered leading to work hardening + stress et voila.

Yep, that's what they said. The new ones are heat treated...
