I`d say we ask people who has 50 000 miles on their bikes and up.... What do you think going to happen with 3K miles...
I bet you could piss in the crankcase and run it for a week....

100 years of automotive industry proved that engines must be loaded gradially....

And piston rings not the only parts required a break in period.
Cam lobes and crankshaft bearings are most important for longetivity of the engine...

Syntetic oil issue was discussed 1000 times on this board and million times elsewere... Do it as soon as practical.

and a little experiment you coud do at home....

Take two pieces of sandparer and start rubbing against each other.....do you feel that heat? after 1 minute it becoming smoother and not much heat anymore, huh?
That is exactly what happening inside of newly assembled engine....

170 mles is time to change your oil... Do it yourself. You will save a lot of money in a long run.

syntetics has nothing in common with conventional oil...

They both called oil and that is pretty much it....
Vette, Viper, MB, BMW, Porsche use syntetics from the factory.

the only reason to use mineral oil is economical factor.

we have a few members with a lot of miles on their engines...
Their input would be priceless.

My Busa is too new to make any point.... My BMW has 235 000 miles on original engine and running strong... Syntetics from day one..... And I redline her every day...

cant wait for the first time i open her up.... think shell scare me?
wink.gif
keep it over 8krpm and she ll scare ya !nice power band !!
