Brake bars purpose?????

the brake stay arm keeps the caliper from moving when you apply the brakes...otherwise, when you hit the brake, the caliper would just lock up on the rotor and start to spin.

some bikes have the caliper mounted solidly to the swingarm...differently.

East Coast Motorsports offers a brake caliper block for the 08 & 09 which prevents the caliper from rotating with the rotor when the brake is applied. The cost is 49.99 and is black anodized. ok.now i know,y did they make it that way instead of the gsxr's way.is the brake bar better.

The brake bar eliminates some of the twisting torque of braking. Without it, torque is transfered to the swingarm causing changes in ride height and suspension performance. With the brake bar, the force pushes on the bar and reduces some of the twisting torque, letting the suspension work more freely.
